Planet Aid responds to Reveal case (October 20, 2022)

Responding to the news that Planet Aid has settled with Reveal, Planet Aid’s CEO Fred Olsson today said:

Planet Aid is grateful the Federal judges ruled that the core allegations of Reveal’s articles were false. This remains the most critically important aspect of the process for Planet Aid, as it upheld our reputation and vindicates our decision to seek legal remedy. Any claims to the contrary are a distortion of the facts. Unfortunately, even though we proved the stories were false, we were unable to convince the court that Reveal published these falsehoods out of 'actual malice.' At this time, Planet Aid has accomplished what we came to court to prove and, to avoid further costs and distractions, decided to settle the matter and move on.
