Planet Aid donated $401.90 to The Beacon, a nonprofit that helps provide food, clothing, shelter, and other necessities during times of need or emergency. A percentage of the clothing donations collected from two area stores was set aside for the charity after a Planet Aid employee learned of The Beacon's work. Director Bob Eckles said the money would be placed in the operating fund.
