Planet Aid Receives U.S. Soccer Foundation's Passback Donation

The United States Soccer Foundation believes in the uniting power of soccer and strives to assist those who love the game but are unable to play. Through the Passback program, they encourage organizations and individuals to collect new and gently used soccer equipment for redistribution to children in need. When Planet Aid Site Finder Coordinator and Community Outreach Megan Atkins went to Malawi at the beginning of the year, Passback donated 50lbs of soccer balls, jerseys, and cones for her to take to Africa. She passed them out to the locals, and used the equipment at the preschool to teach interactive games such as counting. To date, Passback has collected and redistributed close to 900,000 pieces of soccer equipment to organizations across the world. To see some of Megan's photos and learn more about Passback, visit
