Planet Aid Opens Earth-Friendly Donation Centers - Planet Aid, Inc.

Written by Planet Aid, Inc. | May 31, 2022

As a longstanding charity for 25 years, Planet Aid's mission is to inform, mobilize, and inspire individuals and communities to work together to bring about worldwide environmental and social progress. Planet Aid recognizes that the Earth's resources are finite and that good stewardship is essential for the well-being of current and future generations. Our used textile re-use program and the projects we support aim to protect the environment, reduce waste, and increase the efficient use of vital resources.

The clothes dropped in our yellow Planet Aid bins are sold and reused in developing countries, where the demand for used clothing is high, or repurposed into something new. We make it easy for you to recycle your textiles, which helps you protect the environment. Revenues are used to fund the development and programs around the globe.

"In a continued effort to provide convenience for donors to donate clothing and shoes and in addition to our yellow bins, we are implementing a new concept at some shopping centers and commercial locations," said Fred Olsson, Planet Aid Chief Executive Officer. "The environmentally-friendly Donation Centers are solar-powered and monitored by cameras 24/7."

"In response to the increasing need for clothing donations, our Donation Centers will enhance convenience for our donors and provide opportunity for communities to contribute to protecting the environment through our clothing re-use program. The Donation Center concept is highly visible, safe, and convenient," said Hector Garcia, Director of New Business Development.
