Schools and Community Partners are invited to participate in Planet Aid's Creativity Contest! - Planet Aid, Inc.

Written by Planet Aid, Inc. | Feb 22, 2023

Planet Aid's School and Community Program will begin taking submissions for its creativity contest on Monday, February 27. All entries are due by Wednesday, March 15.

Last November, the winning schools were announced live on Planet Aid's Instagram and Facebook pages. Tatnall Middle School in Delaware and A. Russell Knight Elementary School in New Jersey tied for first place and took home the top prize.

The schools showed their creativity with rap songs, skits, cheers, dances and even a weekly Monday meeting dedicated to strategizing about donations and learning about Planet Aid.

It was all great fun, but now the new challenge commences. This year, any school or community partner with a Planet Aid bin can sign up to participate in the contest.

Here are the guidelines:

  • Participants must create a Public Service Announcement (PSA) for their school or community.
  • The PSA must include information about the importance of textile recycling with Planet Aid, preferably with a tie-in to Earth Month.
  • Contest submission can be any of the following:
    • video
    • vlog
    • painting/drawing/photography
    • graphic design
    • article
    • poem
    • or something elseā€¦ you choose!

The contest provides an excellent opportunity to research and learn about themes like fast fashion, water conservation, greenhouse gases, carbon imprint, and how these topics relate to the clothing that ends up in landfills.

The creativity contest is the precursor to the Earth Month clothing drive, which will run from April 10-28. For more information, please contact education@planetaid.org.
