Volunteers Train at Richmond Vale Academy to Serve in Malawi
A new group of international volunteers has just kicked off their 10-month journey with People to People Volunteers at the Richmond Vale Academy (RVA) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines!
These dedicated changemakers will spend the next three months training at RVA—learning about sustainability, global development, and teamwork—before traveling to Malawi to support locally led projects with DAPP (Development Aid from People to People). Their experience will conclude with a final month back in St. Vincent, reflecting on their impact and sharing what they’ve learned.
In the video, volunteers from around the world—including the United States, Brazil, Germany, and more—share what inspired them to take this leap.
-
Tristan says he joined to “gain resilience and learn about different cultures and communities.”
-
Kristen, now in her 60s, shared that volunteering in Africa had always been a dream—and “now is the best time.”
-
Rhys joined to “see life in a different way” and to help people less fortunate.
-
Julius chose the program to “leave his comfort zone and make a difference where help is needed most.”
Together, they’re setting out to make real change—learning, growing, and working side by side with communities creating sustainable solutions to global challenges.
