Planet Aid recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of visitors and supporters. This policy has been created to demonstrate our respect for your privacy preferences and to disclose our information collection and sharing practices.

Planet Aid does not collect personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to receive certain services from our website.

You may be requested to provide information such as your name, address, phone number, or email.

How is the collected information used?

We collect personal information to fulfill requested services when you donate online, request a tax receipt for a clothes donation, apply to volunteer, or sign up to receive email updates from Planet Aid.

Donating

Planet Aid uses a professional outside service to process online donations. Transactions on the site are secure.  Planet Aid does not keep your credit card information on file, only the contact information you submitted so that we may provide you with information about our programs and additional giving opportunities.

Applying for a job

Personal information obtained in connection with job applications will be held in strict confidence by our HR department and the hiring manager. Planet Aid currently does not take online applications.

Sharing

The information you provide online or offline will be used internally in Planet Aid by designated staff to complete services requested by you. Planet Aid does not rent or share any of its donor information with other organizations.

No mobile opt-in or text message consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates.

Security

We use a variety of up-to-date security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We store any personal information you provide on computer systems with limited access. These systems are located in controlled facilities. When we transmit highly confidential information over the Internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

Planet Aid monitors navigation to our web site and we collect certain data such as IP addresses and domain names. We also may use cookies to better understand how our site is used and to enhance the user’s experience. You may turn off cookies in your browser, but that may inhibit your use of some features on our web site.

Text Message (SMS/MMS) Terms of Service

1. When opted-in, you will receive text messages (SMS/MMS) to your mobile number. These kinds of messages may include information and promotions.
2. You can opt-out of this service at any time. Just text “STOP” to the phone number. After you text “STOP” to us, we may send you an SMS reply to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time, or text “START” or “JOIN” and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
3. If you are experiencing any issues, you can reply with the keyword “HELP.” Or, you can get help directly from us: planetaid.org/contact-us.
4. Carriers, such as AT&T, are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. You should expect to receive 2 messages per month from us.
