The Loop by Planet Aid brings sustainable fashion to Baltimore's historic Fells Point neighborhood. Proceeds support community development.

Baltimore, MD — March 30, 2026 – Planet Aid, a nonprofit known for its iconic yellow donation bins and textile recycling mission, announces the grand opening of its new secondhand retail brand: The Loop by Planet Aid.

Grand Opening of The Loop

On Saturday, April 18, Planet Aid officially opened the doors to its brand-new secondhand retail store, ‘The Loop’ by Planet Aid, in Baltimore’s historic Fells Point district. The store’s soft opening was in mid-March, and April’s grand opening was the official launch and welcome party for the community. The grand opening was complete with a ribbon-cutting and a sparkling cider toast.

Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tiffany Bethea joined Planet Aid CEO Fred Olsson to cut the ribbon, celebrating Planet Aid’s new venture to bring secondhand style full circle.

Before the ribbon-cutting, Planet Aid CEO Fred Olsson briefly spoke, explaining the meaning behind the store’s name. He noted that 'The Loop ' refers to circularity, textile reuse, and ensuring that wearable textiles can benefit people and the planet.

Tiffany Bethea also gave a few words on behalf of the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce. She remarked,

"This is more than just a beautiful new store; it’s a reminder that business can make a difference. The Loop has created a space for our community to shop with purpose, finding affordable, stylish clothing while helping to reduce textile waste and keep usable items out of the landfill.”

The grand opening was marked with many memorable moments, including a New Orleans-style band marching down the street playing, and eventually landing right in front of the store’s entrance. There was also a deejay to keep the party vibes going, and games and prizes for customer discounts or a free item.
