- On April 15, Planet Aid teamed with Fairfax County Public schools to sponsor the "Drive for Success"golf tournament benefiting Franklin Middle school in Chantilly,Va. More than 300 businesses and families participated last year, with corporate sponsors GEICO, PepsiCola, Buffalo Wing Factory, Gold's Gym and more. Franklin Middle school's learning community, which consists of parents,students, and staff is committed to a rigorous and differential instructional program in a safe and nurturing environment.
- We welcome new school bin hosts! Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, and Sinclair Middle School and Connexions Academy from Baltimore have joined our school program.
On Sunday, April 28, we participated in the EarthDay at Loudoun celebration! We collected used clothes and shoes at the event. Thanks to everyone who came out to donate.
Planet Aid is participating in Northrup Grumman's Live Well and Environmental Awareness Expo being held at the company's sites in McLean, Herndon and Chantilly on April 23, May 1 and 2, respectively. In celebration of Earth Day, the Expo is designed to promote a healthy lifestyle and ways to go green! Attendance for each event is expected to be over 300 people. Planet Aid will have a truck at each location to collect donated used shoes and clothes.
