Books for Kids Day 2014

The Maryland Book Bank's annual Books for Kids Day will take place on May 3 this year. The goal of the event is to collect 25,000 gently used and new books for children and schools in need. You can drop off books, donate your time as a volunteer book sorter, or help organize a book drive at your school, business, or other organization. Monetary donations to support family learning will also be accepted.

Planet Aid donates approximately 3 to 4 thousand pounds of books to the Maryland Book Bank each week. "Over the last few months Planet Aid has been an incredible partner, providing books for our programs and helping us grow," says Mark Feiring, Executive Director of The Maryland Book Bank. "We are happy to work with Planet Aid and look forward to working with them to help people locally and globally."

The event will be held from 9 am to 2pm in the parking lot of Poly Western High School at the corner of Falls Road and Cold Spring Lane on May 3. For more information, visit their website or send an email to bookbank@marylandbookbank.org.
