Don't Burn the Uniforms

U.S. Senator Harry Reid is making headlines over his call to burn U.S. Olympic team uniforms that were manufactured in China. If the uniforms will ultimately be scrapped, we request that rather than a "bonfire" the U.S. Olympic Committee donate the uniforms for reuse. The resources involved in manufacturing the uniforms, regardless of origin, are too dear to be wasted. There are also many individuals around the world in need of clothing. In today's environment, we cannot afford to burn perfectly usable textiles.
