The fashion show was curated and presented by Encore Projects Founder Valerie Coulloumme-Labarthe. Valerie is a frequent shopper at the thrift store and a thrifting enthusiast. She approached Planet Aid about donating clothes for the fundraising event, which honored French and American veterans and supports the Wounded Warrior Project.

It was a remarkable night where the veterans took center stage and walked the runway in glamorous sustainable outfits from the Planet Aid Thrift Store.

The event celebrated the longstanding relationship between France and America with a theme honoring veterans' resilience. How befitting since so many cope with visible and invisible scars.

The evening was full of inspirational moments including patriotic songs, stories of personal triumph over affliction, and a thunderous applause for the military vets as they made their way down the runway with courage and pride. The reused clothing served as a metaphor for these heroic individuals' perseverance to embrace their second act.
