One Percent for the Planet offers transparency about environmental giving

One Percent for the Planet is an international organization whose members are, both, individuals and businesses. Member businesses contribute one percent or more of their annual sales to environmental causes, and individual members can donate one percent of their annual salary. The donations are usually cash, but in-kind donations or volunteer-service hours are also accepted.

In this episode of Keep Me Posted with Planet Aid, we talk to CEO, Kate Williams, about how the organization facilitates donations between businesses and nonprofit organizations and what motivates these donations. Williams states, "It really is about integrating good purpose for the planet into everyday business." The discussion also offers insight into why donations for environmental causes are historically lower than other philanthropic causes.

The organization directly takes on the challenge of providing transparency concerning how organizations use donations to help the environment. For more information about the organization, visit the One Percent for the Planet website.
